Setting up Teams Direct Routing with a Ribbon SWE Lite SBC in Azure

Overview

This guide details the configuration required for connecting Ribbon’s SWe Lite SBC deployed in Azure to Microsoft Teams Direct Routing.

The SWe Lite can be used to connect an enterprise’s Microsoft Teams clients to:

  • SIP trunk from a third-party provided (PSTN)
  • Third-party PBX

The SBC SWe Lite is certified for Teams Direct Routing media bypass and non-media bypass.

Deploy SBC SWe Lite via Azure Marketplace

Review Prerequisites:

  1. Microsoft Azure Subscription
    • A Microsoft Azure subscription (with credit) is required.
  2. Azure requirements for the SBC SWe Lite virtual machine
    • Resource group
    • Virtual network
    • Virtual subnet
    • Network interface

Search for “SBC SWe Lite” from the Microsoft Azure Marketplace.

In this guide we are deploying the Quick Launch version.

Click Create and fill the required fields as it relates to your subscription

Copy and paste the SBC SWE Lite Management FQDN to access the SBC Web UI.

Click on the SBC Easy Setup menu

Install an SSL certificate.
